Overview

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for leading high-performing teams and driving procurement excellence? Join our dynamic team supporting the River-Class Destroyer (RCD) program, where your leadership will directly impact the success of one of Canada's most significant naval initiatives. As a Team Lead, Procurement, you will manage a team of Associate and Intermediate-level supply chain professionals responsible for lifecycle procurement activities for systems, equipment, and materials. You\'ll oversee packages of low to medium complexity and may personally lead high-impact, complex procurements requiring strategic oversight and cross-functional collaboration. This role is pivotal in ensuring safety, schedule adherence, cost optimization, and maximizing Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) throughout the Design & Manufacturing (D&M) phase.


Responsibilities


  • Procurement Execution: Ensure consistent, high-quality procurement practices across all lifecycle stages.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement strategies with program goals.

  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to drive performance and accountability.

  • Team Leadership: Develop and lead a high-performing team through engagement, skill-building, and competency development.

  • Reporting: Provide structured and ad hoc reporting to support organizational visibility and decision-making.


Qualifications


  • Post-secondary education in business or a related field.

  • Minimum 7 years of supply chain experience in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments.

  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving results.

  • Strong background in:

    • Excellent communication skills - clear, concise, and professional.

    • Supplier performance management (safety, quality, delivery, cost)

    • Contracting principles and competitive bidding law

    • Project management, scheduling, and change management


  • Stakeholder engagement and cross-functional communication


Note: Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
