Job description

Edmonton Academy is a remarkable educational setting where teachers make a lasting impact on their students' learning and achievement. We are seeking enthusiastic professional teachers with a teaching degree for the 2025-2026 school year. This position would be for a very small elementary class of students who have a diagnosis of a specific learning disorder in reading, written expression and/or mathematics. Each teacher is expected to use multimodalities for instructing our students and must be able to differentiate their teaching and the learning expectations as needed. Teachers will be provided with school-based professional development to understand how our individualized approach allows our students to achieve academic success, despite their specific learning differences in literacy and numeracy.

We recognize that overall student success involves meeting our students’ academic, social, and emotional needs while working to build their independence and resilience as learners. Learning to meet the whole child is created through explicit instruction and high levels of active engagement that have been facilitated using clear routines, expectations and visual supports. Willingness to learnvarious technologies, such as setting up and using Google Classroom, Chromebooks, assistive technology (Google Read and Write), Viewsonics/Smartboards, and educational websites, eg, Classroom Screen, Gimkit, etc., is an important skill required of our staff.
