Reporting to the Corridor Technical Director, the Engineering Manager will oversee and be responsible for engineering deliverables, ensuring the best outcomes for all the required Engineering outputs. This role requires extensive multidisciplinary expertise in the rail industry, encompassing all technical aspects from project initiation through design, integration, testing, commissioning, and final handover. Additionally, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for implementing assurance processes in alignment with CMREA, ISO 15288, and EN 50126.
Key responsibilities include facilitating collaboration among project teams and working closely with discipline leads to review and coordinate project designs across various configuration states. The Engineering Manager will ensure design compliance with project requirements across multiple engineering disciplines, including Civil, Structural, Track, Signalling, Communications, Rolling Stock, Power Distribution, SCADA, Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS), Protection and Controls, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Earthing and Bonding, and Security. Furthermore, the Engineering Manager will actively engage with Client project delivery teams (PDT) and key Metrolinx stakeholders, including Engineering, Asset & Maintenance (EA&M), discipline-specific Centres of Excellence, sponsors, Technical Integration and Assurance Team, and functional groups to support project success.
