Job description

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Switchboard Clerk to support the Health Information department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values and strategic priorities of Northern Health and under the general supervision of the HIM Coordinator, the Switchboard/ Health Records Clerk performs clerical duties related to creating and maintaining patient records, record retrieval, assembly, quantitative analysis, release of information, and clerical duties relating to the admission and discharge of patients including registration. Performs a variety of clerical duties such as answering phones, taking messages, transferring calls, faxing reports, and restocking supplies. Receives and forwards calls and information utilizing a switchboard, public address and related communications system.

Typing 45 wpm & medical terminology required. Must be available to work both day & afternoon shifts Mon-Friday

Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 30-bed Facility that sees an average of 22,000 ER visits per year. It is a fully equipped facility with medical imaging, laboratory, ICU, ER and maternity. Services include:
