Overview

The NOVASOL CHEMICALS Group is a 100% independent company, ranked in the ICISTop Best 100 chemical distributors. Our Headquarters are based in Brussels (Belgium). We have affiliates and sales offices in 9 European countries, in China & in Canada. We are looking for a Supply Chain Coordinator with international experience for our entity based in Burlington, Ontario. You will be part of the Global Supply Chain team.

Your role:

At Novasol Chemicals, we are looking for a Supply Chain Co-ordinator to take responsibility for overseeing and facilitating the efficient movement, storage and distribution of goods within our supply chain. You will be tasked with ensuring safe and timely deliveries, to satisfy both Novasol’s and our customer’s requirements, while adhering to specific country regulations, import restrictions, tariffs and responsible distribution mandates.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Planning and Coordination: Develop transportation schedules and routes to ensure timely delivery while optimizing costs. This includes coordination with suppliers, carriers and warehouses, together with your Novasol team to manage the flow of goods in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to prevent stock outs or overstocking. Communicating with warehouses, ensuring products stored under optimum conditions.
  • Vendor & Carrier Management: Build relationships with transportation and warehouse providers, ensuring service levels and costs meet company standards.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and process shipping documents, such as bills of lading and customs paperwork, whilst adhering to individual country compliance to regulations.
  • Tracking and Reporting: Monitor shipments in real-time using available tools, providing updates to stakeholders, addressing and resolving any issues that arise during transit.
  • Problem Resolution: Address any issues that arise during the process to minimize disruptions in the supply chain. Always being aware of continuous improvement to resolve potential for re-occurring issues.
  • Plan and oversee Value Added Logistics (VAL) activities such as mixing, repacking, and drumming.
  • Vet and recommend transport partners based on corporate agreements, competitiveness, and service criteria.
  • Maintain and update the company database
  • Actively participate in supply chain meetings, sharing insights and proposing process improvements.

Your profile:

  • Proven experience in supply chain planning and logistics management, preferably within the chemical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of international transport, North American import/export regulations, and hazardous material handling together with regulated transportation requirements.
  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain data management (Oracle – NetSuite).
  • Familiarity with entire customs clearance process and LoC shipments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • You are a team player, possessing excellent communication skills excelling in relationship building, in order to engage with all stakeholders.
  • Advanced level of English (written and spoken); additional languages are an asset.
  • Hands on & entrepreneurial mindset
  • Able to work with different cultures and levels
  • You are positive and willing to contribute to the company team spirit by your open communication and active knowledge sharing amongst colleagues
  • Flexible and ready for some travelling to warehouses and subsidiaries in the NC Group
  • Advanced level of Excel and the Microsoft package
