Position Overview

Lac La Biche County is seeking a collaborative and well‑organized individual to serve as the Supervisor of Communications, Public Relations, and Marketing. This position plays a key role in coordinating and aligning how the County shares information with the public, stakeholders and staff. The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for day‑to‑day communications, marketing and public relations activities, while also building strong internal partnerships across departments. This position requires someone who can foster consistent messaging, coordinate multi‑channel campaigns, and ensure departments are supported in reaching their audiences effectively. Collaboration, relationship building and coordination are at the heart of this role. Position Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee communications, marketing, and public relations functions across the organization.
  • Lead and support staff responsible for implementing County wide promotions and outreach.
  • Work closely with internal departments to understand their needs, develop communication strategies, and ensure alignment with corporate priorities.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that ensures consistency and coordination across all messaging and materials.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, including consultants, creative professionals, and media contacts.
  • Oversee the development of promotional content, media releases, public notices, newsletters, and social media posts.
  • Guide the execution of marketing campaigns, branding efforts and public awareness initiatives.
  • Ensure the County’s online presence remains current, accurate and engaging.
  • Coordinate public engagement efforts, including planning, logistics and communication support for consultations and outreach events.
  • Monitor public sentiment, digital analytics, and media trends to guide future messaging.
  • Support internal communications that promote engagement, clarity and collaboration among staff.
  • Participate in emergency communication planning and implementation.
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
  • Degree/diploma in post‑secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience in communications, marketing, community engagement or similar work environments.
  • Extensive training and/or experience in design standards, typography, photography, and related technology (Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Office, etc.)
  • Experience coordinating across departments or teams and managing competing timelines and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a variety of formats and audiences.
  • Knowledge and experience in social media management, website content development and marketing tools.
  • Experience with project or team coordination, including working with vendors or consultants.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and political awareness.
  • A collaborative mindset, with a proactive and solution‑focused approach.
  • A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.
Position Details

Status: Permanent Full Time

Days & Hours of Work: Based on a 35‑hour workweek, typically Monday‑Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm. May require evenings or weekends for special events, meetings or projects.

Salary: $109,345.60 to $140,758.80 annually ($60.08 to $77.34 hourly)
