Superintendent - Municipal Infrastructure

Position Overview

Based in Vancouver, BC, the Superintendent – Municipal Infrastructure will lead day‑to‑day site operations on critical projects including water and wastewater treatment facilities, bridges, and other essential public works. This hands‑on role directs production, collaborates with project managers and subcontractors, and ensures safe, high‑quality delivery that serves communities long‑term.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor project budgets and forecasting to the individual phase code and cost type level, identifying potential gains and losses.
• Provide leadership and direction for all project activities, ensuring successful outcomes in compliance with contracts and client needs.
• Ensure clear communication of project‑specific roles and responsibilities for all site personnel, providing regular and respectful feedback.
• Monitor company equipment and supplies to ensure availability where required; inspect tools and equipment and notify the Tools and Equipment Manager for service and repair.
• Enforce safety protocols, maintain site organization, and drive productivity through proactive problem‑solving.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as a Superintendent for a large general contractor.
• Background in critical infrastructure (water, wastewater, bridges, etc.) projects considered a strong asset.
• Journeyman trade certification or equivalent field experience.
• Willingness to be hands‑on in the field and work occasional night shifts.
• Able and willing to travel and work across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Assets

• Technical diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Gold Seal certification.
• NCSO certification.
