Job summary

A seasonal lodge in the Canadian Rockies is seeking a Gift Shop Sales Associate to provide excellent customer service and assist with merchandise sales. Sunwapta Falls Rocky Mountain Lodge, Jasper, AB. Salary: $17 per hour. Full-time. Shift: weekends as needed.

Seasonal position starting May 7, 2025 until October 14, 2025. International applicants: no LMIA spots available.

Overview

We are a seasonal property looking for a highly motivated and customer‑oriented individual to join our team as a seasonal Gift Shop Sales Associate at our lodge in the Canadian Rockies. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, assist customers with purchases, and maintain the appearance of the gift shop.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist customers and visitors to our lodge in the gift shop.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
  • Provide information about products and services.
  • Process sales transactions and handle cash and credit card payments, including returns of merchandise.
  • Stock and display merchandise under direction of manager.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
  • Cross‑sell and cross‑promote hotel and restaurant products and services.
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience in retail sales is an asset.
  • Hands‑on experience with POS transactions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.
Compensation and Benefits

Wage: $17 per hour + commissions (varies from 2 % to 5 %). Staff accommodation available for employees over the age of 18 at $4.41 per day. Bonus: if contract is completed you will receive a bonus that will cover the cost of your rent. Referral bonus: $500 if both your and your referral's contract are completed.
