Job summary

Job Description And Duties

Coast Mountain College invites applications for non-regular, on-call substitute Instructor(s) in our Business Administration program. Positions commence as soon as possible and end August 31, 2025 on an on-call basis. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor salary scale.

Duties

Substitute instructors provide back-up relief in the absence of regular instructors. Instructors contribute to the academic success of students in the BADM program, including course preparation, teaching and guiding students, providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction.

Qualifications
  • Experience teaching with distributed learning formats and knowledge of relevant technologies (office 365, Brightspace, video/web conferencing, learning management systems, online resources) is an asset.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching with the ability to motivate and mentor learners of all ages.
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom.
  • Ability to function effectively across cultures, particularly with Indigenous communities is an asset.

A bachelor’s degree in Business (MBA preferred) or a closely related discipline (Commerce, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources) is required. Additional post-secondary education and training in teaching (Master’s Degree in Adult Education, Provincial Teaching Certificate, Provincial Instructor’s Diploma) is preferred.

A commitment to student success is required, along with a demonstrated ability to foster a motivational learning environment for a diverse student base.
