A local county government is looking for an Environmental Services Student to assist in stormwater management operations. Responsibilities include conducting field inspections, updating GIS data, and supporting waste management programs. Applicants must be enrolled in an environmental-related program and have a valid Class G2 Driver’s License. This position offers $19.36 per hour for a contract period of approximately 4 months, with potential weekend work.
The Environmental Services Department is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the County’s storm water systems, water treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection, solid waste management and wastewater treatment facilities and associated infrastructure.
Reporting to the Manager, Stormwater and Drainage and the Supervisor, Waste Management, the incumbent will:
Must be willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
Employment is conditional upon: attendance at all training sessions, submission of required documentation/certification, adherence to the minimum age requirements and ability to meet the employment term.
At time of application must be enrolled in a post-secondary education institution or institution of higher learning.
Applicants must submit a criminal record check (dated within the last 3 months) from their local police service for approval prior to commencing employment.
