A provincial government agency in Kamloops seeks a Fire Crew Leader to oversee wildfire management efforts. You will lead crews, ensuring safety and resilience in local communities. Applicants should have supervisory experience and a valid driver’s license. This full-time on-site role offers a unique opportunity to impact wildfire prevention and response.
At the Kamloops Fire Centre, you\'ll join a dynamic and established team of diverse individuals dedicated to wildfire management and safety. Our team comprises Unit crews (22 people) and Initial Attack crews (4 members, with bases hosting 18–52). You\'ll collaborate with professionals in wildfire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery from across the province. The Fire Crew leader plays a critical role in executing fire suppression and hazard plans and ensuring crews are mobilized in incident response. In this role, you\'ll lead crews on the fireline and in day-to-day fieldwork around their communities, playing a vital part in keeping these communities safe and resilient. Education and Experience
*Intermediate First Aid is the new name for Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 2, as of November 2024. The name change aligns with restructuring of first aid courses in British Columbia to CSA standards.
