A governmental organization in British Columbia is seeking Fire Crew Leaders for wildfire management. This role involves leading fireline crews and contributing to community safety. Ideal candidates have forest fire experience, leadership skills, and relevant certifications. Positions available full-time in various locations including Telkwa and Terrace.
The Team: At the Northwest Fire Centre, you'll join a dynamic and established team of diverse individuals dedicated to wildfire management and safety. The team comprises Unit crews (22 people) and Initial Attack crews (4), with initial attack bases hosting between 18 and 52 members. You will collaborate with professionals in wildfire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery from across the province. The Fire Crew leader plays a critical role in executing fire suppression and hazard plans and ensuring crews are effectively mobilized in incident response. In this role, you'll lead crews on the fireline and in day-to-day fieldwork around communities, playing a vital part in keeping these communities safe and resilient. Your work in wildfire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery will have a direct impact across British Columbia.
