A provincial government agency is seeking an Indigenous Relations Restorative Justice Officer to lead reconciliation efforts and foster relationships with Indigenous communities. This role requires building trust-based partnerships and ensuring Indigenous interests are part of compliance practices. Ideal candidates will possess a relevant degree or diploma, conflict management skills, and experience in negotiations. Strong preference will be given to Indigenous applicants, supporting a commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
The Ministry of Forests’ Natural Resource Officer Service (NROS) delivers a full range of natural resource compliance and enforcement activities, including education, promotion and compliance with regulatory requirements and conducting major environmental investigations. The NROS supports the management and delivery of compliance and enforcement activities in a manner that is timely, appropriate and consistent with the mandate of the Ministry.
The Indigenous Relations Restorative Justice Officer plays a critical leadership role in advancing reconciliation, fostering government-to-government relationships, and supporting restorative justice initiatives within the Natural Resource Officer Service (NROS). This position is responsible for building trust-based partnerships with Indigenous communities, ensuring Indigenous interests are integrated into enforcement practices, and leading collaborative approaches to conflict resolution and compliance.

This position can be located in one of the Ministry’s North Area Offices: Dawson Creek, Prince George, Smithers or Terrace.
This position has full time on-site requirements.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
Depending on a successful candidate’s location, a bi-weekly isolation allowance may apply.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future similar vacancies in the North Area.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
