Job description

Perfaware is seeking a highly skilled Sterling OMS Support Analyst with a strong focus on IBM Sterling Order Management production support and system stability. As a Sterling OMS Support Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in monitoring high-volume retail environments, resolving technical incidents, and maintaining the operational health of supply chain systems.

Functional Skills
  • Background in computer science, information systems, engineering or engineering degree with programming coursework and an interest in a technical career.
  • 0-3 years experience as Technical Consultant/Software Developer/Systems Analyst/ Production Support Analyst working on Java/J2EE, Oracle or DB2 database, Unix/Linux environments
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic knowledge or understanding of full-life cycle of software development.
  • Familiar with writing SQL queries
  • Understanding of Unix/Linux and knowledge of shell scripting
  • Expertise in handling Production support tasks and debugging issues involving multiple systems and teams
  • Flexible to work occasionally at odd hours (nights or weekends) for deployment/go-live/critical events
  • Experience with Retail domain or Distribution (warehouse/logistics)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, collaboration and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and in onsite-offshore collaborative manner
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership on tasks
  • Basic English skills – able to have brief conversations and respond to emails.
Roles and responsibility
  • Do Production Support of IBM Sterling OMS Suite including IBM Sterling Store and IBM Call Center for Commerce
  • Work closely with business & IT users to prioritize issues & find workarounds
  • Prepare or Review Standard Operating Procedures or similar documents in English & Spanish for business users in Call centers, stores & IT Admins
  • Participate in the development and continual improvement of the OMS solution through development, manual testing and automated testing
  • Prepare and Review Technical Design documents related to custom components and enhancements
  • Collaborate with the Solution Architects, Developers, Business Analysts, Business Managers, testers and Projects Managers as required
  • Explain the pros and cons of architecture, design and development approaches to business and IT teams
  • Communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Create, modify or execute shell scripts to run jobs, monitor systems etc.
  • Write or tweak SQL queries to troubleshoot issues, extract data and generate reports
  • Plan and execute store rollouts and feature functionality rollout
  • Plan and execute release deployments in production with minimal downtime and disruption
  • Handle or enhance build and deployment activities using tools like CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Maven etc.
  • Stay current with emerging industry trends and technology
Desirable Technical / Functional Skills
  • Experience with Enterprise applications from Salesforce, Manhattan, JDA or SAP products in Retail and Distribution such as eCommerce - Salesforce Commerce Cloud, IBM WebSphere Commerce, Oracle ATG, Magento, Hybris; ERP – Netsuite or SAP; WMS and Transportation - Manhattan, JDA or SAP products in Retail and Distribution;
  • Development experience on Java or Javascript, AngularJS
  • Experience with RDBMS – Oracle or DB2
  • Exposure to or understanding of Application Servers – WebSphere/Weblogic/Jboss
  • Knowledge of version control software – GIT/SVN and CI/CD tools like Jenkins
  • Familiarity with reporting tools, ETL tools or Application monitoring tools
  • Experience in working in offshore-onsite model
