Short Description

The Senior Project Coordinator supports the Stations Project Manager in the effective delivery of construction activities for an assigned station or group of stations. This role focuses on advanced coordination, detailed documentation control, field issue tracking, and short‑term planning to ensure smooth day‑to‑day site execution. Working closely with Construction Coordinators, Superintendents, Engineering teams, and subcontractors, the Senior Project Coordinator helps maintain progress while supporting quality, safety, and schedule performance across the station works.

About The Role

The Senior Project Coordinator plays a key operational role within the stations delivery team, providing advanced support to ensure construction activities are executed efficiently and in accordance with project requirements. This includes assisting with planning and coordination, maintaining accurate project documentation, tracking field issues, and helping resolve site challenges in collaboration with internal and external partners. The Senior Project Coordinator acts as a central communication point for daily construction activities and contributes to the overall performance of the station team by promoting effective coordination, timely issue resolution, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Construction Delivery
  • Support the SPM in managing day to day construction activities for assigned station scopes.
  • Conduct routine site inspections with the Superintendent and project team, documenting progress, deficiencies, and follow up actions.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of short term plans, including 3 week lookaheads and daily coordination requirements.
  • Coordinate site access, work sequencing, and constraints with subcontractors and other work fronts.
  • Monitor site progress to confirm work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Technical & Design Coordination
  • Assist in the review and coordination of RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, NCRs, and ITPs.
  • Track design clarifications and ensure updates are communicated to field teams and subcontractors.
  • Support Engineering and the SPM in resolving technical issues impacting construction activities.
  • Verify materials, equipment, and installations meet station design and quality standards.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain station level logs and trackers, including RFIs, submittals, quality and safety observations, and change events.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reporting inputs for the SPM, documenting progress, issues, and mitigation actions.
  • Assist in preparing readiness reviews, station reviews, and milestone documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of required project documentation.
Working Conditions

The role is primarily site‑based, involving daily interaction with field teams, subcontractors, and station leadership. The position requires regular presence on active construction sites and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and typical construction‑related hazards. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during critical construction activities or major milestones. The Senior Project Coordinator works under the direction of the Stations Project Manager and provides support to the broader station delivery team as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and supporting the delivery of construction activities.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and technical workflows.
  • Effective communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Experience with station fit‑out, mechanical and electrical coordination, and architectural finishes.
  • Knowledge of project management and construction systems such as P6, Bluebeam, Procore, Aconex, or equivalent.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and resolve field issues efficiently.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 3‑5+ years of experience in ICI, civil, transit, or station construction.
  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Business, or a related field.
  • Progress toward professional certifications such as CET, P.Eng., PMP, or Gold Seal Certification.
