About the role

As a Staff Frontend Engineer at Fortis, you’ll be a key leader in building and implementing web client-side technologies. You will collaborate with other engineers, game development teams, product managers, and external teams. You’ll lead scoping definitions, planning, estimation and tracking; evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to ensure the highest quality product platform. You will support the development of an evolutionary roadmap aligned with new strategic initiatives; collaborate with game development teams, quality assurance and end users to produce cutting-edge software solutions; interpret business requirements to articulate the business needs to be addressed.

What you’ll achieve
  • Be directly involved in architecting and implementing the frontends for our game services infrastructure.
  • Contribute to service API design.
  • Lead the entire lifecycle of our frontend applications, including scoping, technical design, implementation, documentation, and deployment.
  • Design and implement reusable user interfaces and components.
  • Actively ensure that our codebase is robust and maintainable.
  • Thrive in a highly collaborative workplace and actively engage in the development process.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to your peers and co-workers.
  • Collaborate with product and design in a team leadership role.
What you’ll need to be successful
  • Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Deep knowledge of frontend technologies: React, Webpack, Node.js, npm.
  • Familiar with micro frontends and microservice architectures.
  • Skilled in integrating with RESTful APIs and collaborating with backend developers.
  • Committed to unit and integration testing during development.
  • Versatile in adopting new technologies as needed for specific use cases.
  • Strong mentorship and coaching skills.
  • Track record of working within development best practices, Agile methodology, and effective team collaboration.
