About the Role

We are seeking a world-class data science contributor to join us as a Staff Data Scientist. This is a rare opportunity to operate at the highest levels of technical, strategic, and organizational impact, helping shape the future of a global entertainment platform. In this role, you will serve as a thought leader across multiple domains, driving long-term innovation while solving complex and ambiguous problems that span content, product, personalization, marketing, and operations. You will work closely with senior leadership to influence the company’s strategic decisions through rigorous quantitative insights, modeling, and experimentation.

We are seeking someone with deep technical expertise, an inventive mindset, and the ability to drive change at scale without relying on managerial authority. If you are motivated by big challenges, passionate about storytelling with data, and excited by the opportunity to impact hundreds of millions of users around the world, we want to hear from you.

What You\'ll Do
  • Define and lead high-impact data science initiatives that influence long-term company strategy and cross-functional priorities.
  • Develop novel algorithms and machine learning models in areas such as personalization efficiency, content valuation, and portfolio optimization.
  • Design, execute, and interpret sophisticated experiments and causal inference studies to measure impact and guide decision-making.
  • Serve as a technical advisor and mentor to data scientists, engineers, and product leaders; drive best practices in experimentation, modeling, and decision science.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Content, Studio, and Executive teams to embed data into every level of decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and ML Ops to improve data pipelines, feature engineering, and automation across experimentation workflows.
  • Identify emerging methods, tools, and external trends that could reshape how we use data science across the organization.
Your Background
  • 10+ years of experience in data science, ideally in a consumer technology or media company.
  • Expertise in at least one of the following domains: econometrics, optimization, statistics, causal inference, machine learning, or reinforcement learning.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark, with hands-on experience managing and analyzing large-scale, event-level data.
  • Extensive experience designing and analyzing controlled experiments and observational studies.
  • Proven track record of independently leading projects that deliver measurable impact at scale.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Operations Research, or similar.
  • Experience in video streaming, entertainment, or ad-supported media.
