Summary of Job

This is a senior analyst position responsible for the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and notes disclosures. The role involves participating in monthly, quarterly, and yearly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, analysis, and audit schedules. The analyst will review month-end P&L statements and explain significant variances to the budget.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Financial Statements and Reports

Coordinate and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements and note disclosures in compliance with US GAAP. Prepare financial metrics for reporting to the Board and investors. Drive enhancements in financial reporting, analysis, and system requirements.

Month-End Close

Prepare month-end journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and payroll for the business unit. Review month-end P&L and explain significant variances to the budget.

Tax & Audit

Coordinate the quarterly and year-end close process with external auditors. Support schedules and working paper preparation to meet audit requirements. Liaise with other departments. Record the quarterly tax provision and compile information for the annual corporate tax return.

Job Requirements

Education, Experience, and Technical Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Finance & Accounting
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., R), Great Plains (A)
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Accounting designation or near completion (CPA)
  • Post-secondary education in accounting (university degree or college diploma)
