Guidewire Billing Center Technical Lead / Sr Developer

As part of our client's Software Engineering Group, you will be working with globally distributed teams, including business representatives, business analysts, architects, and engineers to plan, design, develop, test, and implement solutions. This position reports to the AVP - Software Engineering.
Work Model: Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite
Location: Markham
Perm / FT - Salary + bonus and benefits
Responsibilities
- Review software requirements efficiently
- Build architectural diagrams / design documents
- Design screens, business rules, and workflow changes
- Write programs, configure / package / deploy software
- Establish and follow coding standards
- Debug and unit test the code
- Perform peer code reviews
- Mentor junior resources
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related fields, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years proven experience in Guidewire Application Development
- Must work on Guidewire Billing Center (BC) Configuration
- Expertise in GOSU Language, configuration and coding using Guidewire tools and accelerators, Guidewire Batch, and Guidewire predefined plugins
- Read code in other languages and reverse engineer products
- Agile software development, including the use of Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, etc.
- Domain knowledge on Property & Casualty Insurance
- Guidewire Cloud Certification is a must.
- 7+ years of Guidewire development experience.
- 7+ years of experience coding RESTful APIs.
- 7+ years of experience with coding in multiple programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, etc.
- 7+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL – MS SQL Server & Transact SQL proficiency preferred.
- Expertise in the end-to-end design and development of business database applications.
- Experience creating modern web applications and designing Web APIs with REST/JSON.
- In-depth understanding of design thinking and customer-centric development.
