Job description

A global fast-growing, entrepreneurial color cosmetics company is looking for a Sr. Accounting Manager to join the team.

As the Accounting Manager, you will report directly to the Controller and work closely with our entire business and finance team. You will focus on accounting, control, reporting, planning, and budgeting of business operations. The position requires an appreciation for entrepreneurship without large corporate infrastructure.

The Objectives of this Role

  • Lead accurate and timely month-end and year-end reporting and analysis and include involvement in budgeting, forecasting, and special cross-functional projects.
  • Complete both month-end and year-end close processes, including liaising and preparing audit schedules and working papers, GAAP presentations, and audit queries to ensure compliance.
  • Highlight opportunities for business performance and corporate spending improvements by performing ad-hoc and regular in-depth analysis and preparing management reports.
  • Develop and implement monthly reporting using existing Business Intelligence tools and suggest areas for improvement

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee and supervise all accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and treasury in compliance with policies, guidelines, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities including leading year-end audits, and financial analysis of results against budget / forecast.
  • Lead and implement monthly management reporting by business unit utilizing existing ERP System.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis.
  • Conduct purchase analysis, physical inventory control, and internal controls, including, forecasting / budgeting including capital and fixed assets.
  • Evaluate transactions and record them to the general ledger to ensure financials are accurate and complete.
  • Support national and international company tax policies and procedures including monthly tax filing and any statutory audits.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis of reporting requests from various departments and stakeholders.
  • Oversee day-to-day treasury activities, including liaison and maintaining relationships with the banks, administering banking & credit card platforms, compliance reporting, streamlining & maintaining payments and expense reimbursement processes and tools, deploying and maintaining ACH & EFT payments, timely bank reconciling, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • Support with the development and tracking of key business metrics.
  • Review and maintain the Company cash flow, including forecasting, planning, and management.
  • Who You Are

  • Post-secondary degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related discipline preferably in a manufacturing setting with direct exposure to inventory controls.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar / managerial role with experience leading a team.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial transactional activities including accounting, payroll, revenue and expenditure control, ERP systems, internal control principles, and financial management practices.
  • Excellent-level skills using MS Office suite, specifically Excel; creating complex worksheets including macros and pivot tables.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience with banking and reimbursement tools and platforms such as Expensify, Concur, Dayforce, etc.
  • Inventory control experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a fast learner.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including reliability, consistency, flexibility, and adaptability in day-to-day interactions.
  • Extraordinary planning and organizational skills.
  • Pro-active, takes initiative, and recognizes the sense of urgency.
  • Strong ability to prioritize to meet tight and conflicting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
