Job summary

A leading fire safety company in Northeastern Ontario is seeking a Fire Protection Technician to service and install fire alarm and suppression systems. The ideal candidate will be certified and possess a Red Seal Journeyperson Sprinkler Fitter qualification. This is a unionized position with a focus on safety and compliance. Qualifications

  • Certification as a Fire Protection Technician (Sprinkler/Standpoint System) required.
  • Must hold Red Seal Journeyperson Sprinkler Fitter qualification.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean abstract is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Service wet, dry, and pre-action systems, and perform repairs.
  • Install new systems in various settings, coordinating with trades.
  • Inspect and test systems like fire pumps, hydrants, and alarms.

Job Tasks
  • Service – Wet, dry, pre-action systems, small renovations that require modifications. Trouble shoot systems that are not in proper operation. Make applicable repairs
  • Contracts – Install new systems in both retro and new builds. Coordinate with onsite trades, track and order material, follow track and report on safety procedures
  • Inspection – Inspect, test all applicable systems (fire pumps, hydrants, different alarm valves and devices
  • Maintain knowledge of codes and standards
Qualifications
  • Certification as a Fire Protection Technician (specifically, Sprinkler / Standpoint System)
  • Red Seal Journeyperson Sprinkler Fitter
  • Position is a unionized position
  • Valid driver's license with clean abstract
