The Role

The Sports Store Technician plans and organizes sports stores activities and equipment purchases according to established policies and regulations. They order and track materials and supplies. They prepare reports for supervisor, as required. They maintain records of distribution accounts. The Sports Stores Technician also obtains quotes for goods/products from suppliers and submits to supervisor for purchases.

Qualifications

Education, Certifications and Licenses

  • High school diploma AND several years’ experience in a related field
  • A valid driver’s license (Ontario)
  • Forklift operators licence, an asset

Experience

  • In issuing sports equipment
  • In the preparation and maintenance of outdoor sports facilities
  • In equipment maintenance/scheduling
  • In loss prevention
  • In inventory control
  • In record keeping/invoicing
  • In event planning and project management

Competencies

  • Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership

  • English Essential

Other Information
  • This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
  • Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg)
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • This Category I unionized position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the PSAC bargaining unit for NPF Category I employees at CFB Kingston.
  • This temporary employment is expected to end on April 20, 2026.

Start date: October 20, 2025
