Job description
BAYADA New Jersey Hudson Hospice has an immediate opening for a Per Diem Spiritual Counselor.
The position will support our patient visits in Middlesex County.
This individual will be a member of an experienced hospice care team that provides assessments, education and symptom management related to end of life care.
Hospice / care experience preferred, along with experience making home visits.

Responsibilities for a Hospice Spiritual Counselor include:

  • Develop and adhere to the client's spiritual care plan.
  • Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and family members.
  • Complete documentation accurately and timely.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Must demonstrate an appropriate attitude.
  • Participate in providing bereavement services to family members, referral sources, and the community.

Qualifications for a Hospice Spiritual Counselor include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree (preferred) in counseling or have graduated from an approved divinity school, as indicated by school transcript or diploma, and meet all state practice requirements.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in spiritual care in a health care setting, preferably hospice or palliative care.
  • Formal ordination or endorsement by a recognized faith organization is preferred, or, for faith traditions that do not require ordination, demonstrated spiritual leadership, or recognized standing within the community is preferred
  • Travel required for the position.

Base Pay, depending upon qualifications and subject to negotiation: $30-$32 per hour
