Airbus Canada is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Specialist to join the A220 Chief Engineering organization. Reporting directly to the Head of Overall Systems Design, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous competitiveness and excellence of the A220 aircraft systems across their lifecycle. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your challenges:

The Systems Competitiveness Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and driving the competitiveness aspects of various aircraft systems. This involves a focus on optimizing performance, cost‑effectiveness, and operational efficiency. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Direct Maintenance Cost (DMC) Improvement: Analyze system designs and operational data to identify and implement measures that reduce maintenance effort, part costs, and ground time.
  • Operational Reliability (OR) Enhancement: Analyze in‑service data of system failures or unreliability, and define proposals to boost operational dispatch reliability.
  • Cost‑Effective Design: Challenge current and future system designs to ensure a robust and functional product is delivered using the most cost‑effective designs, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Transversal Coordination: Act as the technical focal point for competitiveness, collaborating with various internal stakeholders (e.g. Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Customer Services).
  • Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to systems competitiveness, providing regular reports and recommendations to Chief Engineering management.
Your boarding pass:
  • You have a Bachelor or Master University degree in Engineering or equivalent field.
  • 5 years or more of proven experience in aerospace systems design, troubleshooting, and/or operational aspects (e.g., in‑service support, field services).
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with transverse technical and cross‑functional teams in a complex, integrated environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret complex technical and operational data.
  • Knowledge of the Airbus A220 systems architecture is considered an asset.

This role may involve some travel for business worldwide.

Travel Required: Occasional travel overseas.
