Join the Enterprise Architecture and Artificial Intelligence team in the role of Specialist, Solutions Architect. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and integration of CMHC’s Technology Solutions to address complex business challenges while ensuring that various components – such as hardware, software and networks – work together effectively. You will be responsible of understanding complex project requirements, creating architectural blueprints, and ensuring that solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, including security and data governance. The Specialist, Solutions Architect will work closely with senior architects and stakeholders to deliver effective solutions while managing complexity and fostering collaboration.

What you'll do:

  • Develop comprehensive architecture blueprints and designs that outline the technical framework for solutions.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for appropriate technologies that meet project needs, ensuring they are scalable and sustainable.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies during audits and assessments, ensuring that architectural practices meet compliance standards.
  • Work closely with external vendors to explore proof of concept initiatives, assessing their capabilities and fit for organizational needs.
  • Conduct investigations into emerging technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on current and future architectural practices.
  • Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders, presenting architectural solutions to executives and securing buy-in while translating complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in the development of business cases, providing architectural insights that inform decision-making processes.
  • Ensure that all architectural solutions developed adhere to established governance frameworks, principles, as well as security regulations, and identify potential risks associated with architectural decisions and propose mitigation strategies to address them.

What you should have:

  • A technical undergraduate degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT, with a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience in architecture or related roles.
  • Familiarity with multiple technology domains, including but not limited to data architecture, business architecture, networking security, software development, cloud computing, and infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment of architectural solutions with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze complex problems, proposing effective solutions that align with business goals and technical requirements.
  • Strong understanding of architectural principles and practices, with the ability to assess and recommend technology solutions that meet organizational needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of industry standards frameworks, such as TOGAF, and familiarity with security and data governance practices.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Relevant certifications, such as TOGAP, CISPP, Cloud certifications, or other relevant architecture/security certifications.
