is currently looking to fill the following positions

1 – Special Education Resource Teacher (MMSS)

for the 2025/26 school year with possibility for extension at

Migizi Wazisin Elementary School (MWES) and

We are a First Nation located on Highway 11 near Longlac, Ontario. Our student population at MWES is approximately 120 from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 and 65 students from Grades 9 to 12. Our history, Cultural Programming, Outdoor Education, Literacy, Numeracy, Social Development and Technology are key focus areas of the curriculum. Circle of Security training and understanding and/or training in Attachment Theory would be considered assets. Our secondary school is inspected by the Ministry of Education annually. We offer benefits and pension package. OCT members will contribute into the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan.

Application Requirements:

  • Must be registered with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
  • Specialist Education, Specialist or in process
  • A current Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualifications
  • Must have an awareness and appreciation of First Nations Culture
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
