Mount Sinai Hospital is seeking a driven and dedicated Sonographer to join our recently renovated general ultrasound department.

Job Overview

Your role will involve collaborating with a supportive team, using state‑of‑the‑art ultrasound equipment for a wide range of procedures, and enhancing your skills in a positive work culture.

Job Type: Regular Full Time

Organizational Department: Sinai Health → Mount Sinai Hospital → Medical Imaging → Ultrasound

Employee Group: Non Union

Location: Mount Sinai Hospital Campus - Toronto, ON M5G 1X5 CA (Primary)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; additional hours may be required.

Salary Scale: CAD $40.05 - $53.32 (2025 NU50)

In this role you will:
  • Perform obstetrical/gynecological, abdomen, vascular, small parts and neonatal ultrasound imaging procedures
  • Operate, troubleshoot and maintain ultrasound, medical imaging and ancillary equipment
  • Prepare written and electronic reports to document all procedures and test results
  • Participate in teaching, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities
  • Perform cross‑functional/site responsibilities as assigned based on departmental needs
  • Perform other related patient care responsibilities
Job Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited degree/post‑diploma Ultrasound program, or recognized equivalent preferred.
    • Consideration may also be given to applicants currently enrolled in an accredited program – as a condition of hire the program must be completed within six (6) months of hire.
  • Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification
  • Registered with Sonography Canada with CRGS designation
  • Registered with the College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Demonstrated maintenance of Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits
  • Fulfillment of certification requirements and maintenance of credentials as required by the department (e.g., Nuchal Translucency)
Preferred
  • Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS) in Abdomen (AB) and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB)
  • Experience in vascular, neurosonography and fetal assessment modalities
  • 1 year recent related experience
Skills and Knowledge
  • Excellent hand‑eye coordination
  • Ability to train in a variety of ultrasound related examinations, procedures, equipment
  • Demonstrated excellent critical thinking, decision‑making and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to multi‑task and work effectively as a team member in a fast‑paced environment
  • Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions
  • Effective body language and people‑management skills, with sensitivity for intimate patient contact situations
