Overview
Clean Harbors is looking for LOCAL Solids Control Technicians to join their safety-conscious team in Red Deer AB. This position is responsible for rigging centrifuges and servicing other solids control equipment at the branch and in the field and requires up to 50% travel throughout Alberta and Western Canada.

Responsibilities
- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices policies and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Service set up and maintain centrifuges and other surface rental equipment in the shop or field.
- Optimize centrifuges, barite recovery and strip drilling mud.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical issues as well as any other issues that arise.
- Sit in on client location on a rotating day or night shift as scheduled to ensure equipment runs efficiently.
- Work in shop during slow periods to assist in the maintenance and repair of all Clean Harbors equipment.
- Repair, maintain, set up and rig down Clean Harbors on-site accommodations, generators and tank farm systems.
- Complete all required paperwork daily (safety documents, JSAs, work orders, service records and daily reports).
- Complete reports and provide solutions for customers on-site.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous Centrifuge operating experience is required.
- Drilling rig experience is an asset.
- Flexible and motivated and able to work in a fast paced demanding environment and respond to change quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that will promote effective communication between customers, colleagues and internal management.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License required with a clean Driver's Abstract.
- First-Aid, H2S Alive and CSO safety tickets are required upon hire.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to travel 50% of the year with up to 1-2 weeks away from home at a time.
