As a Small Business Commercial Insurance Advisor, you will interact with commercial clients, maintain professional relationships with new and existing clients and insurers, and manage your own book of business. Your responsibilities include reviewing and preparing client files, leading marketing efforts, and evaluating and pricing risks.

A day in the life -

  • Provide exceptional client care as the primary contact
  • Respond to client requests, compile information, and submit to insurance companies, binding coverage when appropriate
  • Participate in account reviews, assist in account rounding, and deliver value-added services
  • Prepare submissions in Policy Works and EPIC
  • Create proposals, cover notes, correspondence, certificates, and invoices
  • Assist with administrative functions for account teams
  • Review and prioritize daily tasks including emails and activities
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical files as per standards
  • Manage marketing of accounts, including renewals and midterm changes
  • Gather client data, prepare submissions, negotiate rates, and bind coverage
  • Provide training and guidance to new Insurance Advisors
  • Perform other duties as needed

  • Up to ten years of commercial insurance experience
  • Level 2 insurance license
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

  • Marketing experience within a book of business
  • Ability to work independently

Salary Expectations –

The position offers a variable compensation structure, including a base salary plus commissions. The expected base salary ranges from $50,000 to $70,000, with additional commissions based on sales performance. Total compensation varies depending on skills, experience, location, and business results.
