Job summary

A leading energy company in Canada is seeking a Fixed Term Shipping & Receiving Operator to manage the loading and unloading process of hazardous materials and finished products. Responsibilities include operating forklifts, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate has experience in warehouse operations, a high school diploma, and WHMIS certifications. Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years prior industrial experience, preferably in a production/warehouse facility.
  • WHMIS certifications required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial forklifts to aid in loading/unloading customer orders.
  • Promote workplace safety and comply with safety management standards.
  • Perform routine visual inspections and maintain forklift equipment.
  • Adhere to Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations for compliance.
  • Ensure correct items are loaded and maintain product quality and accuracy.
  • Complete applicable paperwork to meet daily fulfillment requirements.
  • Create pick tickets and track daily shipping loading/unloading.
  • Participate in inventory counting as required.
  • Analyse load patterns for palletized orders.

Skills

Forklift and Warehouse Operator experience
Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Job description

As a Fixed Term Shipping & Receiving Operator, you will be responsible for the rotation of Irving's Blending and Packaging Production and Warehouse inventory and loading/unloading of delivery vehicles. Your goal will be to ensure all hazardous raw materials, damaged goods, or finished product shipments are loaded/unloaded, inspected, counted, staged, sorted, wrapped, rotated, and stored. Your success will be evident by how effectively Customer requirements and shipments are fulfilled in a timely manner to meet on time delivery schedule and commitments.

Kindly note this is a 6 month fixed term contract.

Your Responsibilities
  • Operate industrial forklifts to aid in the loading/unloading of palletized and non-palletized customer orders in order to adhere to production schedules
  • Promote a safety culture in the workplace, identifying workplace safety hazards and adhering to safety management standards
  • Perform routine visual inspections and maintains upkeep of forklift equipment and work area. Ensures all safety equipment are in place before loading or unloading trailers
  • Adhere to Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations to ensure 100% compliance
  • Ensures the correct items are scanned, loaded and secured safely onto equipment and trailers. Maintains a solid understanding of full product line, to ensure order quality and accuracy. Responsible for knowledge of 3000 SKUs
  • Completion of all applicable paperwork in a time sensitive and accurate manner to meet daily fulfillment requirements
  • Creation of pick tickets with selection by selecting aged stock and continuous tracking and updating of daily shipping loading/unloading board
  • Participates with counting of inventory as required
  • Conducts analysis of the load pattern for palletized orders
Your Skills
  • Forklift and Warehouse Operator experience
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite
