Title:Shipping Clerk
Location:Hamilton, ON
Schedule:Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Hourly Rate:$18/hr
Reports To:Shipping Lead

Position Overview:

Our client, a well-established manufacturer in the Hamilton area, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join their team. This role is key in ensuring accurate and timely processing of shipments, particularly through UPS and FedEx systems. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on shipping experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage shipping documentation, labelling, and carrier software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and prepare shipments through UPS, FedEx, and other carriers, including creating labels and shipping documentation.

  • Hand‑pick and prepare customer orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and care.

  • Pack goods securely and label shipments with all necessary documentation.

  • Assemble shipping containers, crates, and packaging as needed.

  • Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records, both manually and in internal systems.

  • Assist with regular inventory cycle counts.

  • Operate hand trucks or similar equipment to move goods as needed.

  • Read and interpret order and shipping documentation to complete tasks effectively.

  • Help maintain a clean, organized shipping area.

  • Support the coordination of multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching.

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 75 lbs.

  • Comfortable with repetitive movement and physical tasks throughout the shift.

  • Visual acuity to read labels, order forms, and track inventory accurately.

What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience in a shipping role within manufacturing or distribution.

  • Hands‑on experience using UPS and/or FedEx systems to process shipments.

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

  • A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Forklift certification is a plus.
