Senior Underwriter - Toronto

Our client is one of the worlds leading insurance underwriters. As a Senior Underwriter working out of the downtown Toronto office, you would manage a portfolio which would require you to develop/maintain relationships with brokers and senior executives from major publicly traded Canadian companies.

Key Responsibilities include
  • Underwriting D&O portfolio and industry classes
  • Relationship management and servicing of brokers
  • Risk/financial assessment and development of underwriting solutions
  • Growing the target business
  • Occasional traveling to support broker relationships
Ideal Traits/Qualifications
  • College/University education with emphasis on Business/Finance preferred
  • Advanced skills in analyzing and interpreting financial statements
  • 5+ years working experience in a professional environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven organizational, time management, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Emphasis on being detail oriented
  • Good problem solving ability
  • Willingness to be flexible and take initiative
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, as well as in a team oriented approach to accomplish goals
  • Knowledge of systems and PC applications (Windows, Outlook, MSWord, Excel, and data processing systems)
  • Billingualism (English/French) is an asset
