Job Description
Senior Technology Specialist
Takeda seeks a Senior Technology Specialist with strong technical expertise, ideally in Pharmaceuticals or Life Sciences. This role blends business/system analysis, process improvement, and project management with hands‑on experience in Microsoft Power Platform, web design, and analytics. The Specialist will help integrate AI and automation tools to enhance workflows, user experience, and operational excellence.
Leadership/People: No direct reports
Geographic Scope: Canada
Acts as technical support for cross‑functional teams, accelerating Takeda’s data and digital delivery excellence capabilities.
Champions adoption of emerging technologies, including AI‑powered tools, to boost efficiency and digital maturity.
Provides technical support with website management, TakedaConnect, mobile apps, and event management, e.g. SpotMe.
Supports process simplification and automation, including PowerAutomate and other workflow tools
Supports process mapping and system integration to improve compliance and usability.
Assists with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, marketing automation and other digital initiatives.
Identifies opportunities to apply AI/machine learning to optimize campaigns, automate reporting, and personalize experiences.
Creates templates and documentation for scalable solutions.
Embodies Takeda Leadership behaviors with a customer‑first mindset and technical acumen.
Fosters innovation and continuous learning, encouraging experimentation with new technologies.
Provides training and support to embed digital capabilities across teams.
Recommends improvements to technology operations.
Maintains and evaluates local tech stack, suggesting consolidation or decommissioning.
Assesses AI and automation platforms for integration into workflows.
Collaborates with internal/external partners on digital initiatives.
Serves as technical SME for troubleshooting and solution design.
Works with vendors to ensure compliant use of Takeda’s tech stack.
Supports change management to drive adoption of AI and digital tools.
Evaluates emerging technologies and platforms.
Explores AI‑driven solutions to enhance decision‑making, reduce manual effort, and improve data quality.
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of IT/technical experience in Pharma/Life Sciences.
Proven skills in system analysis, technical solution design, and business translation.
Strong proficiency in:
CRM experience (Salesforce, Veeva CRM) is a plus
Experience in process improvement automation, and digital transformation.
Effective communicator with strong collaboration and project management skills.
Understanding of AI and machine learning principles and their application in digital marketing and process automation.
In‑depth understanding of AI ethics and governance to ensure responsible implementation.
Enhanced cybersecurity knowledge to protect digital assets in an increasingly automated environment.
Fluent in English; French is an asset.
Location: Toronto, Canada – Hybrid (minimum 40% in office)
