Salary : $55,000-$95,000 per year

The Senior Staff Accountant plays a key role in managing client financials, preparing accurate reports, and supporting accounting processes for clients in a variety of industries. The responsibilities of the Senior Staff Accountant will include: preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, performing reconciliations, assisting with audits as well as guiding and supporting junior staff.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation and / or review of financial statements and tax returns in an accurate and timely manner
  • Perform tax planning, budgeting, cash flow analysis as needed
  • Preparation and review of personal tax returns in a professional manner
  • Foster a strong professional client relationship through positive interactions
  • Maintain respectful and professional communication with fellow team members and government organizations and personnel
  • Ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activity
  • Support and guide junior staff on accounting tasks
  • Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, clients / customers, visitors, and other external stakeholders
  • Other duties as required
Job Requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to adapt to new technology
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work individually and in a team setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel)
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • A positive and willing attitude
  • Ability to effectively problem-solve through different situations
Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of business trends across the various industries we serve
  • Timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in public practice
  • Completion of the Common Final Examination (CFE) or in progress is preferred
  • Experience using CaseWare, Doc.It, Tax Prep would be considered an asset
Work Conditions
