Overview

Senior Software Engineer - Alloy and OpenTelemetry Collector. Remote in Canada.

Grafana Cloud is our composable observability platform that integrates metrics, logs, and traces with Grafana. It allows our customers to leverage the best open source observability software – including Prometheus, Mimir, Loki, and Tempo – without the overhead of installing, maintaining and scaling their own observability stack. The Observability department enables developers to understand the health and performance of applications and infrastructure by instrumenting code, ingesting observability data into Grafana Cloud and visualizing it.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Working with the Alloy team to deliver new functionality.
• Contributing to and reviewing design documents for upcoming features.
• Being an active member of the OpenTelemetry collector community. Alloy shares components with the OpenTelemetry collector project.
• Ensuring Alloy integrates well with Prometheus components and the Prometheus ecosystem.
• Supporting customers and prospects with setting up their observability pipelines.
• Collaborating with other Grafana teams to ensure Alloy works well with related solutions.
• Participating in on-call rotations for deployments.

As we are remote-first, guidance is provided and regular video meetings are held; independent attitude and good communication skills are essential.

In Canada the Base compensation range for this role is 153,729 CAD - 184,475 CAD. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed during the interview process. All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
