Role Overview

TRIO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Information Services team. The ideal candidate will own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of strategic initiatives—from opportunity identification and business case development through delivery and benefit realization. This leader will drive outcomes across cross‑functional teams (clinical operations, finance, IT/security, vendor partners) ensuring projects are delivered on‑time, on budget, and at the expected quality, with measurable value post‑implementation. This role will report to the Vice President, Information Services, and is home‑based in Canada. This position is currently vacant and open for applications.

Responsibilities
  • Opportunity and Business Case Development: Lead discovery with business stakeholders to identify opportunities related to process, organizational, and systems improvements. Develop comprehensive business cases outlining financial, operational, and strategic benefits. Create measurement frameworks to track progress through implementation. Support implementation by acting as a subject matter expert for business departments.
  • Portfolio Intake & Governance: Facilitate project intake and prioritization, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, capacity, and constraints. Maintain portfolio‑level visibility of status, risks, and dependencies, escalating issues with clearly defined actions.
  • Project Management & Delivery: Manage scope, cost, and schedule to ensure successful delivery of projects within the assigned portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather requirements. Conduct benchmarking of applicable options and provide informed recommendations.
  • Risk Management: Partner with subject matter experts to identify, track, and mitigate project and initiative risks.
  • Benefits Realization: Monitor and measure project benefits to ensure delivery of expected value. Lead lessons learned, benefits validation, and formal project closure processes.
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement best practices to enhance delivery and business outcomes.
  • Performance Reporting: Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

Note: This role is an individual contributor position and does not include direct people management responsibilities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field; experience in clinical research or healthcare is a strong asset.

  • Minimum 5 years of business analysis experience, preferably within the clinical research industry.
  • Demonstrated success developing business cases that achieve desired business outcomes.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification required.
  • Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with resource forecasting for a weighted project pipeline.
  • Proficiency with project management software and tools.
