A leading financial institution in Toronto is seeking an experienced IT professional to join their production support team. The role focuses on resolving complex business challenges, conducting data analysis, and automating processes associated with Credit Card products. Candidates should have over 8 years in IT, strong analytical skills, and expertise in SQL and Excel. Our team collaborates with business lines and technology to support production issues and develop innovative solutions for revolving credit products. We provide subject matter expertise for the Credit Card ecosystem, including a variety of key applications that support it. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for big data system analysis. You will work closely with business teams and cross‑functional engineering leaders to gather data requirements for the various data & reporting projects.
Conduct timely and accurate production support and remediation of customer accounts within the Global Cards Technology Team.
Managing tasks relevant to your expertise, such as data extracts, sorting, analyzing, and creating automated scripts for data analysis and extraction.
Providing consultation and support to all supporting business areas in relation to Credit Card and LoC products and their systems.
Analyzing, creating, and utilizing automation within a vendor mainframe application (TSYS TS2) to enhance efficiency across the Bank.
Performing in‑depth data analysis, change management, and process re‑engineering to ensure efficient day‑to‑day operations.
The incumbent must be able to react quickly to resolve problems and work overtime on occasion to meet deadlines and to implement systems with minimal impact to the end users.
Providing training and mentorship to team members to maintain high standards of performance and continuity.
The incumbent must work under tight deadlines, conflicting priorities and a sense of urgency to resolve critical issues.
The position requires concentrated use of sight and touch at a computer terminal on average 5‑6 hours/day.
Require to be onsite 3‑4 days a week at minimum.
8+ years of practical experience within IT.
The incumbent must be a creative, self‑starting, results oriented and highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills in order to apply this knowledge to independently resolve complex business problems.
Experience working in Agile/ SDLC delivery methodology.
Hands on Advanced Excel, SQL, VB Scripting, automation tools esp. low/no code.
Working knowledge of data warehouse.
The candidate must have interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to gain cooperation from users and senior management. These skills, along with the incumbent’s good time management and organizational skills, will allow the incumbent to effectively manage issues and change management while planning and organizing resources to effectively resolve issues and execute the necessary tasks.
The incumbent must also possess a very good understanding of current IT practices, systems development techniques, including requirements specification and testing methodologies, real‑time analytical and formal modelling tools and keep current with rapidly changing technology.
A recognized undergraduate degree in programming/computer science or a related discipline.
