Job description

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Payroll Clerk to join our team to support our industry-leading client.

NOTE:

  • Onsite
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reporting to the site Controllers, the primary responsibility is to accurately process weekly payroll for two facilities for the unionized workforce.
  • Enter/Verify the accuracy of punch time in the UKG System, update the daily Access Database, and export data to the payroll system.
  • Check for errors/omissions, summarize daily reports, and review approvals.
  • Review the completed trial register for accuracy.
  • Accurately complete payroll summaries, other reports, and print pay stubs.
  • Maintain payroll ledger and balance weekly and month-end payroll distribution.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and yearly payroll reports.
  • Maintain probationary hours, prepare union billings, and collect monthly union dues from employees. Track Unifor education training hours, etc.
  • Reconcile and maintain employee payroll deduction plans.
  • Reconcile and maintain employee Y.T.D. earnings and deductions, and prepare T4’s and T4 Summary.
  • Prepare online records of employment for E.I. in a timely fashion and remit payments to the Family Responsibility Office.
  • Maintain accurate vacation and wage disability records for all hourly employees.
  • Distribute mail and prepare courier packages.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with all payroll records.
  • Update daily maintenance hours into SAP and process PANS.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of Grade 12 and payroll experience.
  • At least 2 years of payroll experience.
  • Unionized payroll experience is strongly preferred.
