Our Canadian Mining team has an immediate need for a Senior Mechanical Technician to join our team in Sudbury, Ontario. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and coordinating both 2D and 3D mechanical documents on both large and small-scale projects. As a Mechanical Technician, you will be part of a multi-talented team focused on designing surface and underground facilities and infrastructure in the mining industry. Your duties will involve daily collaboration with other Designers, Engineers, Project Controls, Procurement, Estimating, and Project Managers from our multi-discipline team. You will work to help mentor Junior and Intermediate Mechanical Designers. You will convey design requirements to the team through traditional 2D deliverables and/or BIM 3D models. You will work to develop design concepts, create models, and coordinate designs while considering existing conditions and other discipline requirements.
A typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for extended periods of time. Working in a 50/50 hybrid home/office environment is an option. Field work may include exposure to the elements, underground work and may involve travel outside of normal working hours.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
