About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of innovative medical devices that directly improve patient outcomes. You will oversee complex projects from concept through pre-mass production, guiding mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and design validation. This role includes mentoring engineers, providing technical leadership, and collaborating closely with electrical, software, manufacturing, and regulatory teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple mechanical design projects, providing technical direction and project planning.
  • Design and develop mechanical components and electro mechanical assemblies for high-reliability medical devices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring designs meet product requirements and manufacturability standards.
  • Guide prototyping, testing, verification, and regulatory submission activities.
  • Support production troubleshooting and resolve design non-conformances.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to mechanical engineering team members.
  • Maintain meticulous engineering documentation and contribute to intellectual property development.
Qualifications & Must-Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; MS or PhD preferred.
  • 8+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in medical devices or highly regulated industries.
  • EIT or P.Eng required or willingness to obtain; EGBC registration encouraged.
  • Expert in SolidWorks and related add-ins.
  • Experience with injection molding, including insert molding and over-molding.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, design controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • Portfolio of previous design work recommended.
