Description

The Senior Manager, National Asset Protection / Loss Prevention is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational execution of all asset protection, loss prevention, and risk mitigation programs across Purolator’s national network. This role focuses on safeguarding assets, packages, and reducing loss and damage claims by leading prevention initiatives, managing audit processes, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address potential risks.

Responsibilities
Team Management
  • Supporting a team of managers that provide national LP coverage.
  • Oversite of field LP programs.
  • Budget management for field team P&L.
Audits & Compliance
  • Lead internal audits related to loss prevention, and policy and procedure adherence.
  • Report audit findings, risk gaps, and improvement recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Conduct customer packaging compliance and piece count audits
Risk Assessment & Security Controls
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments at sorting hubs, and high-risk zones to identify vulnerabilities and implement measures to mitigate risks to physical and digital assets.
  • Collaborate with IT security for integration of cybersecurity risk assessments into LP strategies.
  • Oversee the maintenance, and optimization of CCTV systems, access control, alarms, and other physical security infrastructure.
Investigations & Incident Management
  • Oversee investigations related to theft, fraud, cargo loss, and policy breaches.
  • Ensure proper documentation, escalation, and resolution of incidents, working closely with HR, and Legal.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Leverage data analytics tools to identify loss patterns, emerging threats, and operational vulnerabilities.
  • Review high loss customer claims history, analysis reviews, reports and recommendations
  • Track KPIs related to shrink audit scores, and incident resolution times.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in asset protection, loss prevention, or corporate security.
  • 3+ years of supervisory / leadership experience
  • College education or equivalent is preferred
  • Recognized security accreditation (CPO, CSS, CPP, CISSP, PSP, PCI) is an asset
  • Experience in the courier / cargo / transport industry is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to coordinate a wide variety of duties and responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite
  • Knowledge of Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act and Powers of Arrest
  • Previous experience with CCTV, access control, and security systems
