A leading recruitment firm seeks a lawyer for a 12-month maternity leave cover in Mississauga. Candidates need 5+ years in labour and employment law, experience in federally regulated workplaces, and the ability to operate autonomously in a hybrid setting. Responsibilities include managing employment litigation and advising on various HR policies, risk, and workplace matters.

Our client seeks a lawyer with 5+ years of experience with labour and employment law matters to cover a 12-month maternity leave contract. Some experience in a federally regulated workplace is required. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will have direct relationships with the HR team, work on employment templates and policies, provide risk advice (as a member of the enterprise risk team), provide regulatory support, have carriage of employment litigation matters, handle severance and terminations, and advise on workplace harassment, violence, discrimination matters, and related investigations.
A person who is adaptable, business-minded, and able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment will thrive in this role. This hybrid position requires 2 days a week in the Mississauga head office.
