Senior Key Account Manager – Loblaws/Shoppers Drug Mart

Reports to: Senior Director of Sales

We are looking for a driven and experienced Key Account Manager to oversee day-to-day engagement with Loblaws/Shoppers Drug Mart Category Manager teams; building strong partnerships and executing joint business plans. This role requires a strategic sales professional with direct experience managing Loblaws categories, preferably within the Natural channel, strong negotiation skills, and advanced proficiency in analyzing LDIA and Nielsen data to guide business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a background in effective forecasting practices in a CRM system and working cross-functionally to achieve goals in distribution, volume, and trade spend profitability.

Knowledge & skills
  • You have strong knowledge and sales skills specific to Food and/or CPG/Food Service industry

  • You have excellent computer skills including MS Office Suite, MacOS, and more
Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • You have 7-10 years’ as a Key Account Manager calling on Loblaws Head Office
  • Experience directly managing Natural categories preferred, also having Shoppers Drug Mart Key Account Management experience is an asset
  • Experience in understanding and managing P&L, and making profitable decisions to achieve both internal and customer objectives mutually
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment
things you will do…
  • Serve as the primary contact for Loblaws/Shoppers Drug Mart, working closely with all divisional category teams to develop and implement sales strategies
  • Deliver annual sales, distribution, and profit targets by negotiating effective promotional spend with ROI mindset, and effective trade spend management
  • Develop and execute annual joint business strategies that align with the companies brand strategy and identify all opportunities for category growth within Loblaws/Shoppers Drug Mart across all divisions
  • Lead the implementation of internal trade marketing strategies, off-shelf display opportunities, and any seasonal programs with each of the divisions
  • Monitor each divisions performance using sales data, market insights, and portals to track progress and make informed recommendations
  • Develop best practices and discipline around forecasting using all reports and trend analysis available from internal departments as well as customer POS data and customer demand planning reports
  • Foster strong, multi-level relationships with key contacts at all divisions and internal teams
  • Support the launch of new products and innovation to secure listings in each division
  • Represent brands including One Degree Organic Foods, Little Northern Bakehouse, Silver Hills Sprouted Bakery, The Grain Escape and Carbonaut at various trade shows
OTHER…
  • This is a home office-based role that includes some field travel within the GTA to oversee in-store execution
  • Valid driver's license
  • May on occasion work and travel/attend trade shows at various times, including weekends, as the job requires
