Overview

Our Proudly Canadian Owned Manufacturing client is looking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst – Costing on an 18-month contract. With a strong reputation in their industry, this is a great opportunity to demonstrate your costing and analytical skills and build on your career.

The Senior Financial Analyst, Costing plays a critical role within the Finance team, reporting to the Manager of Finance, Operations. This position provides financial and analytical support across plant operations, SKU- and item-level BoM costing, inventory management, and capital asset planning. The analyst partners closely with Operations, R&D, IT, and Supply Chain teams to deliver insight-driven analytics, ensure accurate cost structures, support new product launches, and develop reporting that drives strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed SKU- and item-level cost analysis across all manufacturing sites to ensure accurate and transparent product costing.
  • Monitor and analyze cost variances, absorption, production throughput, and overall plant performance, providing actionable insights to operations leadership.
  • Support BOM and routing validation, ensuring costing accuracy for both new and existing products.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support costing for new product launches, including stage-gate analysis and cost-benefit evaluations.
  • Contribute to month-end close by preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L analysis related to COGS.
  • Maintain accurate capital asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation, while supporting forecasting and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, or Finance.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • CPA designation (or working toward completion) strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with solid skills in PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred); familiarity with Power BI or other business intelligence tools considered an asset.
