Senior Financial Analyst for provincial government agency client, downtown Toronto.

Job Type : Temporary.
Assignment Term : ASAP to May 15 2026.
Compensation : $51.90 per hour.
Regular Work Hours : 7.25 hours per day not including 1 hour unpaid lunch break, to be worked during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week).
Work Location : 100% onsite at client's downtown core Toronto office, near Union and GO stations.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities Summary:
As part of Performance Management Team, will support advanced level financial modelling for designated business intake projects and initiatives with a view to monitor and manage costs, and inform performance management activities.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic divisional business decisions.
- Recommend improvements to existing processes and procedures to achieve greater efficiency. Make recommendations with financial and strategic implications, backed by data.
- Work with cross functional teams to develop worksheet templates for analyses, update process documentation / manuals and prepare PowerPoint slides.
- Prepare corporate budget decks.
- Provide administrative and technical support services to team, including organizing, coordinating, and leading team activities and initiatives.
- Additional financial analysis and project support responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
Education : Post Secondary Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline.
Professional Credentials : CPA or similar accounting designation awarded or in view.
Preferred Work Experience : At least 2+ years of relevant financial and business analysis experience, with focus on performance management. Related post graduate studies / accreditations considered applicable to experience.
Preferred Sector Experience : Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis from a complex, enterprise level organization. Public sector, infrastructure project, or financial / capital investment sector experience an asset.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements
- Expert level MS Excel: expert level financial modelling skills; ability to build complex models from scratch; highly proficient in advanced Excel formulas (will be tested).
- Proficiency with PowerBI, with ability to quickly create PowerBI dashboards as required (will be tested).
- Excellent MS PowerPoint. Adept at creating polished PowerPoint presentations, transforming complex financial data into clear and visually appealing slides (will be tested).
- Proficient with Oracle ERP and Hyperion financial planning and reporting systems (may be tested).
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. Advanced level business writing skills, and strong verbal presentation skills suitable for a diverse range of audiences, both financial and non-financial, at all levels of seniority, including senior leadership.

Additional Requirements
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.

- Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities.
- Ability to complete a satisfactory Provincial Government security check, prior to assignment start.
- Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
- Additional satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, and Employment References as required.
