A leading global reinsurer is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for their North America Non-life CFO Team in Toronto, Ontario. This role focuses on regulatory reporting and collaboration across departments. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of experience in accounting within insurance/reinsurance and knowledge of IFRS and USGAAP. The position emphasizes a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

About this job :

The North America Non-life CFO Team is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst. This role offers a valuable opportunity to develop your financial reporting skills within a dynamic organization. Reporting to the Controller North America, you will be involved in regulatory reporting for three Property & Casualty reinsurance companies and other entities within the U.S. holding structure. This position involves collaboration across organizational levels and locations, providing a blend of creativity, responsibility, and challenge.

  • Coordinate and analyze quarterly and annual regulatory filings, including reports to OSFI and the NAIC / State Regulators.
  • Assist in preparing annual audited financial statements under IFRS (Canada) and USSTAT (U.S.), coordinating with external auditors.
  • Review quarterly financial statements under IFRS, USGAAP, and USSTAT standards.
  • Prepare reconciliations of the Clearwater Investment System to financial statements.
  • Support quarterly federal tax provisioning for Canadian and U.S. non-life tax filings.
  • Assist with data calls (IBC, RAA, BEA) and tax filings (GST / HST, Federal, State, Local, Provincial).
  • Support legal entity planning and capital forecasts.
  • Review and prepare board materials.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with controls and quality standards.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have :

  • At least 3 years of accounting / reporting experience in insurance / reinsurance.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and USGAAP standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and wDesk.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • A strong work ethic and a desire for continuous improvement.
  • A college / university degree in Accounting.
