Position Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Estimator & Sales Leader to join our in-office team in Cornwall, ON. This high-impact role is designed for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in complex estimating, client relationship management, and strategic business growth. You will take ownership of major bid opportunities, provide leadership in pricing strategy, and serve as a trusted advisor to our clients and internal teams.

This is not just an estimating position, it’s a leadership role where your expertise will shape our project pipeline, drive revenue growth, and strengthen NVC Olsonfab’s position as a global leader in noise control technology.

Key Responsibilities

Note: The following responsibilities are organized into three core areas: Strategic Estimating & Proposal Development, Business Development & Client Engagement, and Leadership & Collaboration.

  • Strategic Estimating & Proposal Development
  • Lead the full estimating cycle for large-scale, technically complex projects, from concept through submission.
  • Interpret and assess detailed project specifications, engineering drawings, and tender documents to prepare precise, competitive, and profitable cost estimates.
  • Evaluate risk factors, develop pricing strategies, and recommend competitive positioning for bids.
  • Preparation of bid packages and RFQs, ensuring clarity, compliance, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Leverage industry knowledge to identify value-engineering opportunities that improve cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and suppliers to determine optimal material costs, lead times, and technical solutions.
  • Participate in senior-level client meetings, pre-bid discussions, and negotiations as the technical authority.
  • Business Development & Client Engagement
  • Manage and grow the sales pipeline from lead to close.
  • Proactively identify, qualify, and engage prospective clients through outreach, industry networks, and tender platforms.
  • Research and analyze market trends to identify new opportunities.
  • Develop entry strategies for expanding into new markets or services.
  • Coordinate proposals, bids, and client quotations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a senior point of contact to cultivate long-term partnerships and repeat business.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives and partnerships.
  • Track performance metrics and report on business development progress.
  • Represent NVC Olsonfab at industry events, trade shows, and strategic client meetings.
  • Provide consultative technical support to clients on advanced acoustic and noise control solutions.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
  • Mentor junior estimators and sales staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and client focus.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and fabrication teams to ensure smooth project handoff and execution.
  • Maintain and continuously improve estimating templates, pricing tools, and bid-tracking systems.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in estimating, technical sales, or related leadership roles within construction, mechanical, or acoustics industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
  • Deep understanding of sound attenuation/acoustic products and mechanical noise control systems is an asset.
  • Demonstrated success leading bids for large-scale, high-value industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Expert-level knowledge of tendering procedures, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong asset: Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or specialized estimating software.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of identifying profitable opportunities and closing significant deals.
  • Self-motivated leader with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
