Overview
Mozilla seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the Delivery Engineering team, as part of the Cloud Engineering organization. You’ll drive big improvements to our internal developer platform, including the following focus areas:
- Build a modern CI/CD system centered around tools like GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
- Manage and optimize Mozilla’s cloud infrastructure costs (including FinOps, labeling, metering, and showbacks of costs).
- Uplevel service health at Mozilla by setting the standard for how Observability is used, and making it easy for teams to follow that standard.
- Modernization of our IAM system, ensuring robust, secure, and user-friendly identity management.
- Mature self-serve tools and GitOps workflows to enable service teams.
- Implementing security improvements in partnership with Product Security (e.g., CNAPP, WAF).
- K8s fundamentals including networking and BC/DR for teams running on our platform.
- Supporting the infrastructure behind AI use cases for developers in Mozilla, in partnership with our Data Platform team.
What you’ll do
- Lead & grow a high-performing engineering team focused on automation, self-serve, and data-driven delivery engineering.
- Lead design and architecture for MozCloud Platform services to establish repeatable patterns.
- Manage roadmaps across the multiple focus areas of your team, prioritizing user experience and alignment with organizational strategy.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve project milestones across the components of the infrastructure platform you own.
- Champion operational excellence, innovation, and scalable user-centric solutions.
- Ensure high standards for security, compliance, reliability, and usability.
What you’ll bring
- 15+ years software engineering experience, including at least 5 years of team management.
- Track record leading large-scale organizational and technical transformations anchored around Cloud Native platform and services.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes containerized production infrastructure frameworks and tooling including Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm charts, Prometheus, Grafana, IAM, IdP, WAF, Gateway API and related tooling.
- Proficient with multiple cloud platforms, particularly GCP.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, adept at aligning technical initiatives with strategic user and organizational objectives.
- Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity.
