What you can expect to do here

As a Senior Mine Waste Engineer, you could be responsible for:

  • Leading the design and performance evaluation of tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, and water management infrastructure
  • Reviewing geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations
  • Providing strategic guidance on permitting, environmental planning, and risk management
  • Mentoring junior and intermediate engineers
  • Overseeing project phases, from concept through execution, in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Driving innovation in waste management strategies and sustainable practices
  • Driving business development with existing and new clients
  • Representing WSP in client engagements, regulatory discussions, and industry forums
What you'll bring to WSP
  • 10-15 years of experience in mine waste or geotechnical engineering
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering
  • P.Eng. designation in Canada
  • Deep understanding of tailings dam design, closure planning, and risk-based decision making
  • Proven leadership in engineering teams and multidisciplinary project delivery
  • Strong analytical, communication, and client-facing skills
  • Passion for mentorship and continuous improvement

Compensation

Salary range (in British Columbia): $124,800 - $171,600. The final salary awarded may vary based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, and business needs. The salary range may change for business purposes.
