Overview

Senior Electrical Engineer - Energy Generation

Join to apply for the Senior Electrical Engineer - Energy Generation role at WSP in Canada. This role supports the Energy and Process subsector within WSP’s ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector and focuses on design, engineering and environmental services for power generation projects across North America.

To meet our growth challenges, WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Energy Generation to join our teams located in Alberta, Ontario and Atlantic provinces.

Responsibilities

• You will lead electrical engineering and design of power generation projects
• You will lead electrical engineering and design of renewable energy projects
• You will lead electrical engineering and design of power plant and switchyard electrical system upgrades
• You will lead electrical engineering and design of federal electrical system upgrades
• You will mentor and teach junior and mid engineers
• You will lead and manage project proposal and budget development

What you’ll bring to WSP

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
• Professional engineering license (P.Eng) required
• Minimum of 15+ years of relevant post-education experience in an electrical engineering capacity within the consulting environment
• Strong experience designing power generation and / or substation projects, preferably within the engineering consulting environment
• CAD, Microsoft Office, and ETAP or SKM software experience
• Ability to visit project sites as needed
